RESULT: Our idea was to create an app, similar to Tinder – but for racehorses, giving punters a fun way to find their pick in the National. We worked with GBR to design the ‘Mane Match’ app, while focussing on writing the content, preparing for the launch, and ensuring maximum coverage in the media.

BRIEF: Great British Racing wanted a PR stunt around the 2017 Grand National.
The results were great, with widespread National coverage. This ensured a perfect match for GBR at the Grand National, with over 500,000 in-game engagements and 30,000 plus unique sessions. Thanks to our involvement, punters swiped right on GBR’s digital campaign!
In 2018 and 2019, the app was relaunched, again with our support and new ideas. To add a fresh approach to the campaign, we drew up a plan to undertake a photo call with a brand ambassador holding a cluster of love heart style balloons with the Grand National runners’ names and colours printed on them.
We oversaw the promotion with balloon design, sourcing Hollyoaks star Jennifer Metcalfe as ambassador, event planning and media engagement, which again raised much awareness of the app across numerous national publications.
